Love & Honour
I've started to watch City Hunter (K-drama) today. In the first episode, Min Ho has been trained like a recruit soldier since childhood--rigid and strict way of life but deep down he's yearning for love(esp. a mother's affection). At the end of Episode 1, Min Ho decided to stop at a historical square. He paused for a moment and started to walk towards it. At this moment, he senses the calm and beautiful scenery together with the wonderful people enjoying their time with their loved ones. After that, he stood still again, closed his eyes and started to immerse himself with the peace & joyful surroundings. Together with the melancholic background music, I was touched. Reminds me the value of peace. And love..
I love it so much that I replayed the scene several times. I learned that as a rightful human being, we must always protect and defend whatever we have gained--the rights, the privilege of peace and harmony, the freedom to live & improve-all the opportunities to get the best on earth and hereafter. Whoever tries to take it away or to cause great disorder to the things that our forefathers have struggled to create and achieve in the past, MUST NOT be tolerate at all.
The most important is we must learn from our history. Have the effort to find the reasons behind decisions that our past leaders have made. History is a great teacher but because the current generation fail to do so, we will someday lose all the privileges that our forefathers have been fighting for. Furthermore, we will not value and appreciate them highly. During the recent Bersih 2.0 demonstration, this is what I felt. Since 1998, I knew that demonstration won't bring any good but chaos. I don't believe that we can create change only by that. At the end, the real impact can only be seen through systematic and lawful way. If you want changes, achieve it by using the right way. Disobeying YDP Agong's prohibition. There's no respect to that. Where is our honour? So why do it? Only truly desperate people who wants to provoke/attention seeker will. Why waste time doing ineffective way? We are blessed as our country doesn't need extreme method to create change. The previous GE has shown that. In a multi-racial country, how can you guarantee a demonstration is peaceful when each of us has different agenda and not all have good intentions? The last thing that this nation need is chaos. Due to multi-racial people, we have a high level of sensitivity compared to other nation. We have our own formula. What is good for others isn't necessary good for us.
Islam teach us to be moderate in everything that we do. By this, the result will be more berkat & long-lasting. Panjangkan akal jangan pendek akal..Protect our value and the things that we already have. Do not forsake them just for one's self interest or things that have less value than the ones that we already have since decades. Truly appreciate what we have, the love among ourselves will come together with the respect to honour our cultures and values. Whenever problems arise, yes we can criticize-but what's the point of criticizing without giving any solutions. Problems can be solve if we give help, be united and support each other. As Tun Mahathir said, " Saya mengaku yang orang Islam mudah diperalatkan".
P/s: Have to take time to learn History again ;)
